The Pink Caravan or in Swedish, Rosa Bussarna

Anders Eriksson began the adventure in 1969- with the first bus journey overland from Sweden to India.  Forty years and 20,000 travelers later the legendary Scandinavian adventure company continues and has expanded to include a fleet of:  27 buses, 3  6WD-jeeps, 3 large 4WD-trucks traveling on six continents through 117countries. 

Today you may travel to exotic destinations all over the globe in the trademark pink buses.  Why pink?  Pink is a fun and happy color that the world seems to enjoy.  There is always a welcoming spirit when we roll through small villages with the pink buses.

Our trips are adventure experiences.  We offer trips with our specially rebuilt pink buses.  We cruise down the highways in comfortable, totally redesigned Swedish Scania buses.  No ordinary bus! Most of the seats have been removed and replaced with cushy mattresses that make it easy to lie back, listen to music and watch the scenery pass by.  On the road one can play cards, sit and chat or stretch out and read a book while amazing sights roll by outside the window all the while memories of a lifetime are being made inside.  Once we arrive at a destination, you have the freedom to explore on your own or with others.  It is a great way to see the world and make new friends!

The buses (which are full size, normally for 50 people) take between 25-30 people.  At night the roof and inside the bus are converted into sleeping quarters.  Half the group sleeps up top on the specially built covered roof deck and the other half inside where the tables convert to beds with thick mattresses. We have access to showers and toilets almost every night as we generally sleep in organized campgrounds. 

Each bus is equipped with camp kitchen and there is a designated kitchen manager for each trip who has the responsibility of planning the meals, doing the shopping and dividing the group into cooking teams. Some meals are included in the price; check the trip description for specific details. 

Who travels with us?  The majority is between 18-50 years old and books their trip independently, but finishes the trip with friends for a lifetime!  We have expanded into 2 new concepts which now includes lodging trips that we use other means of transport such as hired trains, boats and buses. Lodging for these adventures is in clean but simple hotels.  The second concept is called “50+” which is for travelers who wish to travel with like-minded people of the same age.
